摘要

本文章主要介紹1550到1953年期間中國本土慈善事業的歷史概述。這四百年時間裡跨越了從明朝的末期到中華人民共和國成立的初期。簡單考究這個時期可以看出中國的政府和民間個人慈善事業有一個歷史悠久的傳統。本文章的目的是仔細分析這些中國傳統性的慈善行動及其背後的動力。認真考究歷史紀錄，本文章交代了慈善思想的起源以及在其他歷史前提下發生的轉變。
