摘要

本文章主要介绍1550到1953年期间中国本土慈善事业的历史概述。这四百年时间里跨越了从明朝的末期到中华人民共和国成立的初期。简单考究这个时期可以看出中国的政府和民间个人慈善事业有一个历史悠久的传统。本文章的目的是仔细分析这些中国传统性的慈善行动及其背后的动力。认真考究历史纪录，本文章交代了慈善思想的起源以及在其他历史前提下发生的转变。
